I am stranded on the side of the highway getting cold :(

Called AMA and a tow truck is on its way in the next 90 minutes.

Yes it is in my 09 impreza, the engine is knocking, and has magical oil that leaves the engine without a trace.

If I thought I could get to you faster than the tow truck I'd hitch up the trailer and get you.

Wait... The tow rig is still stuck in the ice... Fuck...

Has this been looked at? Hope you aren't in the midwest expecting the snow...

Thanks :D

I think she is mad at me for visiting the Volvo dealership last thursday.... Damn... I should have bent to their pressure and took $9450 for this car lol.

It's probably entering the cylinders and getting burnt up. Have you had someone behind you when you pull away to check for blue smoke?

I am in Alberta... It is cold. My choice is to let the engine idle and knock itself to death while staying warm... Or tough it out and be easy on the car.

It has been looked at by a lube technician lol, I thought it might have been low, and then she died after her fill up.

Hmmm... Got extra insulation?

Cover the glass with it, run the car long enough to warm up... shut it down and hope you keep some of the warmth in...

Nope, but that seems probable, she idled fine beforw today... Does extreme cold mask blue smoke? it has been 40 below the past week.

LOL!

Well, at least you have that ;)

I was sort of thinking back to my driving lessons of "never leave home without a blanket just in case" and thought it a little odd a brother that far north wouldn't have the same training...

If it is anything like the last time I used the emergency blanket... It is also full of oil, coolant, spare tire rubber and whatever vegetation it is that gets into the average trunk over the course of a few years.

Even I carry lots of cold weather gear. I go into the mountains and it gets cold there. I broke down once at 8800 feet. It was cold and lonely. Glad I had that stuff.

Glad to hear it!

Hope getting that fixed is less eventful! But do post what did happen, and what you are told about the failure rate of whatever it is.

Definitely her telling you not to do that again haha. I decided to drive a little spirited today with my honda, keeping it at peak torque just because I wanted to hoon a bit. She paid me back my overheating a bit

It is funny how hindsight is 20/20... I thought I felt her struggling in the upper rev band a few days ago.

Possible, doesn't have to idle weird to burn oil

Yeah, could be a few different things thought, I mean, could be crappy spark, or injectors, or disappearing oil, figuring out what is wrong with a car is like reading a mystery book every time
